Electrical problems can create all kinds of issues for your SUV, car, or truck. Do not worry. Our certified auto technicians are experts in car electrical systems. If you are having any of the problems listed below, bring your vehicle to our shop so we can inspect the electrical system and repair the problem.
Hard Starts/Dead Battery
For example, if the electrical system has a phantom drain that is drawing power from the battery, it may be difficult to start your automobile. Another thing that can make starting your vehicle difficult is a malfunctioning alternator. Both of these parts are parts of the electrical system. We will determine why your battery is being drained of energy or test the alternator and repair the problem.
Dim Lights/Slow Accessories
Aside from difficulty starting the automobile, you may start to notice things such as dim lights. This is an indication that there is not enough electricity going to the lights for them to shine at their normal brightness. Your power accessories may also slow down or malfunction if the electrical system is malfunctioning. For example, the windows may slow down if they don’t have enough power.
Burning Electricity Odors
Sometimes, the electrical system can overheat. When this happens, you will smell burning electricity in your car’s engine. This smells like hot wires or burning rubber. We recommend that you play it safe and have your vehicle towed to our shop if you smell burning electricity. You do not want to run the risk of starting an electrical fire because the electrical system is being overloaded.
Fuses That Blow Constantly
When the electrical system is overloaded, the fuses may blow out constantly. You may not realize there’s a problem until something associated with the fuse fails to work. For example, if there’s a problem with the air conditioning portion of your electrical system, the air conditioner fuse may blow in the fuse box. If the electrical system is working properly, you shouldn’t have blown fuses.
Dashboard Warning Light
Finally, your engine control unit may tell you that there’s a problem with the electrical system. If it turns on the battery light, it is telling you that the battery is dying, the alternator is malfunctioning, or there is another electrical system problem that needs immediate attention.
Do not worry. We are a full-service auto repair shop and we can inspect your electrical system. Once we determine the problem, we will let you know what it will take to fix it.
